EA DICE announced today that Battlefield 1943 is the fastest-selling download-only game worldwide for both day one and week one purchases. Since its July 8th launch, Battlefield 1943 has sold over 600,000 copies on Xbox LIVE and PSN. The game is available on Xbox LIVE for 1200 MS points, or on PSN for $15.

It’s funny that, after all of the earth-shattering announcements at E3, it would be a downloadable title getting us shaking most excitedly with anticipation. The goal was simple. The online community for Battlefield 1943 had to accumulate a total of 43 million kills in order to unlock a new map called Coral Sea.
