If you’ve seen Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, you know how epic those films were. You may ask yourself, “Self, how much more awesome can those films be?” Well, try watching it with a full orchestra performing the score live.
On October 9 and 10, Howard Shore’s Academy Award-winning score from the film The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring will be performed live at Radio City Music Hall in conjunction with the showing of the film. The score will be performed by Switzerland’s 21st Century Orchestra, the Collegiate Chorale, the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, and Kaitlyn Lusk.
This won’t be the first time that the score has been performed live with the film, as it was also performed at London’s Royal Albert Hall. For more information visit the website.
On a related note, Turbine has announced on the Lord of the Rings Online forums that they will run a contest later this month to win tickets to this concert.
