Activision Blizzard just released its financial results from the second quarter. Buried among a bunch of dollar signs and other numbers is this little nugget of information, straight from Activision Blizzard CEO/Overlord Robert Kotick.
“As we prepare for next year, we have moved the expected release dates for two games, Activision Publishing’s Singularity and Blizzard Entertainment’s StarCraft II, into 2010.” Kotick said.
The reason for the delay is linked to the relaunch of Battle.net, Blizzard’s online gaming service.
As a result of StarCraft II being pushed to next year, the company is lowering its 2009 outlook a tad, from $4.3 billion to $4.05 billion. Somewhere, a tiny violin is heard playing.
