The PS3 doesn’t support backwards compatibility these days. The only way players can experience the classic games from the PS2 era is to either dig out the PS2 or hunt down a PS3 online that does have PS2 support. SCEA decided that no one should be left out of experiencing the God of War series and will put the first two games on Blu-ray for PS3 owners to enjoy.
The God of War Collection will be displayed at a resolution of 72op and will run at 60 fps. It will also be the first game originally created on the PS2 to be transplanted over with Trophy support. This fantastic deal will go on sale this holiday season for $40.
This could be a great way for Sony to make money by reselling older games with prettier graphics. Could this be the beginning of Sony implementing one of the bright ideas we wrote about earlier?
