Civilization Revolution on iPhone, iPod

Now you can conquer the world while listening to music or waiting in line at the movies. 2K Games has announced that Civilization Revolution is now available on the iPhone and iPod. As an added bonus, the game will be discounted during the first 48 hours to $4.99 before leaping back to its regular price of $9.99.

“We’re thrilled to deliver our signature strategy game on such an exciting and dynamic platform,” said Sid Meier, guru of all things Civ-related. “We choose platforms based on where we feel consumers will have the best gameplay experience with our titles, and the iPhone allows us to introduce this gameplay to mobile consumers - new and old.”

CivRev was the console and handheld version of the highly popular Civilization series. I reviewed the DS version last year. It’s a simplified but decent alternative to the more robust PC versions, and the quick gameplay makes it suitable for the iPhone and iPod.
