Albert Wesker is one of the most memorable characters in videogames. His legacy spans three console generations and has had a hand in just about every Resident Evil game. Those who played Resident Evil 5 (spoilers ahead) may be convinced that Wesker’s reign of terror is finally over and RE5′s producer Masachika Kawata confirms this fact.

Siliconera reports that at a panel during Comic-Con, Kawata was asked if Wesker would ever return. Kawata replied, “Even if you want Albert Wesker to come back there is no chance of that happening.”

It looks like Resident Evil needs another arch villain to take Wesker’s place.
