July 28, 2009 7:33 pm by Jeremy Hill UFC Undisputed has done better than anyone dared to imagine. To this day the game has shipped more than 2.5 million units across the Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms. It has also been in the top ten selling games since its release last May. If you do the math you’ll see that the UFC brand is a money maker and THQ is looking to capitalize on that.
Speaking during a financial call today THQ CEO Brian Farrell said the company is going to bring the UFC franchise to the Wii and handheld consoles. Our guess it that he is referring to the DS and PSP. He also said new UFC games would be released every year.
At the same time, THQ wants to expand sales of UFC games internationally. We’re curious to know if THQ has some sort of epic strategy to make UFC games appeal to a broader audience. Perhaps a UFC mmo title is in our future.
