July 27, 2009 3:57 pm by Toni Schwartz The holidays just got a little bleaker for gamers. First came the news a few weeks ago that BioShock 2 and Bayonetta will be delayed for an early 2010 release. Now, GamePro reports that several Ubisoft titles will also be bumped to next year. This includes Splinter Cell: Conviction, Red Steel 2, I Am Alive, and Ghost Recon.
Specifically, Splinter Cell: Conviction and Red Steel 2 will now be released early next year. There’s no definite release date. Meanwhile, I Am Alive and the latest Ghost Recon installment is being bumped back to possibly as far as 2011.
“We are disappointed that we have to postpone the release of several major games but we consider that this choice is the best one in the long-term interests of Ubisoft,” explained Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot in a statement.
