lego_rockband1 Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment. and MTV just announced five more songs for the kid- and tween-friendly LEGO Rock Band, bringing the total revealed tracklist to 11. The game is scheduled for release this winter, though a definite date hasn’t been given yet. It’ll of course be available on all three consoles.

LEGO Rock Band is similar to the grown-up Rock Band that we all know and love, but with a blocky twist. For example, by collecting LEGO studs, you can unlock vehicles, new venues, characters, and instruments. One particularly cool feature is that completing riffs in Rock Power Challenges allow you to beat a giant octopus, summon a storm, or destroy a skyscraper. Hmm…LEGO Rock Band may give The Beatles Rock Band a run for its money. Yellow submarines are one thing, but giant octopuses (octopi?) sound awesome.

Here are the LEGO Rock Band songs we know about so far, with the new ones in bold.

“You Give Love a Bad Name” – Bon Jovi
“In Too Deep” – Sum 41
“Accidentally in Love” – The Counting Crows
“Aliens Exist” – Blink 182
“Tick Tick Boom!” – The Hives

“Song 2” – Blur
“Kung Fu Fighting” – Carl Douglas
“The Final Countdown” – Europe
“I Want You Back” – The Jackson 5
“Boys and Girls” – Good Charlotte
“So What” – Pink

Interestingly, the press release mentions two other songs that they didn’t include among the five released today. They are Vampire Weekend’s “A-Punk” and the Foo Fighters’ “Breakout”. While they haven’t officially been confirmed as being on the list, it’s probably safe to say that they’ll be included.
