July 1, 2009 7:18 pm by Toni Schwartz How time has passed. It’s already been 10 years since 2K Sports released the first of the NBA 2K games, a series that has increased in popularity over time, with last year’s NBA 2K9 selling 2 million units worldwide.
To celebrate their 10-year anniversary and sales of NBA 2K9, 2K Sports announced the NBA 2K10 Anniversary Edition, set to arrive this fall. The game will come in a locker-shaped storage box that can hold up to 20 games. It will also include the following:
- 3″ Kobe Bryant figurine by McFarlane Toys
- 16″ x 36″ Kobe Bryant poster
- Commemorative NBA 2K 10th anniversary DVD
- Access to the Gold Room, the NBA 2K10 VIP online lobby (via Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network)
The anniversary edition is a limited edition, with only 30,000 copies available. Yes, you can pre-order a copy through GameStop. As a special bonus, 10 randomly selected copies will contain an autographed Kobe Bryant fine-art print, designed by Shepard Fairey’s Studio Number One.
The regular edition of NBA 2K10 will be available on every console including the PSP and DS. However, the Anniversary Edition will only be available on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
